आयकर विभाग की छापामारी में राज्यसभा के कांग्रेस सांसद धीरज साहू की बौध डिस्टिलरी प्राइवेट लिमिटेड (बीडीपीएल) व्यापारिक समूह के ठिकानों पर नोटों से भरी 30 बड़ी अलमारियां मिली हैं. आयकर अधिकारियों को इन अलमारियों से भारी मात्रा में नकदी मिलने का अनुमान है. अब तक 50 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की गिनती हो चुकी है. हालांकि, नकदी का सही-सही आंकड़ा गिनती पूरी होने के बाद ही स्पष्ट हो सकेगा. फिलहाल, विभाग ने अलमारियों में मिले नोटों की सुरक्षा के लिए अतिरिक्त सुरक्षा बलों को तैनात कराया है. इतनी बड़ी नकदी मिलने की सूचना पर हैदराबाद के डीजी इनवेस्टिगेशन संजय बहादुर भी ओडिशा पहुंच गये हैं. ओड़िशा के भी बड़े आयकर अधिकारी ठिकानों पर कैंप कर रहे हैं. नोटों से भरे सबसे अधिक अलमारी ओडिशा के बलांगीर में मिले हैं. विभागीय अधिकारियों के अनुसार, उक्त राशि के देश में कानूनी तरीके से जब्त की जानेवाली सबसे बड़ी नकदी होने का अनुमान है. इससे पहले बुधवार को छापामारी के दौरान अलमारियों से मिले नोटों की गिनती मशीनों के जरिये शुरू हुई. मशीनों की क्षमता कम थी, जिससे उनके जलने का खतरा पैदा हो गया, इसलिए 50 करोड़ रुपये तक की गिनती के बाद बैंक के अधिकारियों ने नोटों की गिनती रोक दी. स्थिति को देखते हुए भुवनेश्वर और हैदराबाद से हवाई जहाज के जरिये नोट गिनने की बड़ी मशीनें मंगायी गयीं. देर शाम भुवनेश्वर से मशीनें पहुंच भी गयीं और गिनती शुरू हो गयी. सूत्रों के अनुसार, 30 अलमारियों में भरे इन नोटों को बड़ी मशीनों से गिनने में भी कम से कम तीन दिन लग जायेंगे. नोटों की गिनती के बाद इस व्यापारिक समूह द्वारा नकदी रखने की वैधानिक अधिकार से साथ मिलान करने के बाद अतिरिक्त नकदी को जब्त किया जायेगा. इसके बाद आयकर अधिनियम में निहित प्रावधानों के तहत कानूनी कार्रवाई की जायेगी.
In the Income Tax Department raid, 30 big shelves full of currency notes have been found at the premises of Rajya Sabha Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu’s Boudh Distillery Private Limited (BDPL) business group. Income tax officials are expected to find huge amount of cash from these shelves. More than Rs 50 crore has been counted so far. However, the exact figure of cash will be clear only after the counting is completed. At present, the department has deployed additional security forces to protect the notes found in the shelves. Hyderabad DG Investigation Sanjay Bahadur has also reached Odisha on the information of finding such huge cash. Senior Income Tax officers of Odisha are also camping at the bases. The largest number of cupboards full of notes have been found in Balangir, Odisha. According to departmental officials, the said amount is estimated to be the largest amount of cash seized legally in the country. Earlier on Wednesday, counting of notes found from the shelves during the raid started using machines. The capacity of the machines was low, which created a risk of them burning, so after counting up to Rs 50 crore, bank officials stopped counting the notes. In view of the situation, big note counting machines were brought by air from Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad. Machines arrived from Bhubaneswar late in the evening and counting started. According to sources, it will take at least three days to count these notes filled in 30 shelves with big machines. After counting the notes, the excess cash will be confiscated after matching it with the statutory right to hold the cash by the business group. After this, legal action will be taken under the provisions contained in the Income Tax Act.
