New Delhi, Aug 18 (ANI): The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue Rs. 50 denomination banknotes in the new Mahatma Gandhi Series. The new note will soon be circulated in the country with the signature of Governor of Reserve Bank of India Urjit R. Patel. The new note has motif of Hampi with Chariot on the reverse, depicting the country’s cultural heritage with the attractive fluorescent blue as the base colour of the note. The new note has other designs, geometric patterns aligning with the overall colour scheme, both at front and reverse. However, all the banknotes in the denomination of Rs. 50 issued by the Reserve Bank in the earlier series will continue to be legal tender. The new denomination also has Swachh Bharat logo with slogan in the reverse side whereas in front, portrait of Mahatma Gandhi is in the center. This is the third note that is going to be changed after the demonetisation move by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
