Morigaon (Assam), Aug 20 (ANI): Flood fury continues to wreak havoc in Assam as 393 villages of Morigaon are badly affected by the downpour. As many as 13 people have died in the district, while 5,29,498 people are affected. According to reports, the death toll due to floods increased to 148 on Saturday with three more deaths reported from Laharighat in Morigaon, Bilasipara in Dhubri and Bokakhat in the Golaghat district. The locals informed that their houses are flooded and it is impossible to live inside them. They are forced to stay outside in tents. A local further stated that they have not received any help from the government even after one month. Despite the increasing death toll, the situation seems to be improving as reported by the locals.
