Guwahati (Assam), Oct 01 (ANI): A retired Assam soldier was asked to prove his citizenship by the Assam Police. Mohd Azmal Hoque retired from the Indian Army after a 30-year-long service. Azmal received a notice from the Foreigner’s Tribunal landed which has put him in the ‘doubtful-voter’ category. In the notice, he has been asked to prove his citizenship by appearing in the local tribunal and furnishing all relevant documents. Azmal was appointed as Junior Commissioned Officer by Former President A.P.J Abdul Kalam. The foreigners’ tribunal will hear the matter on October 13.
