Chandigarh/ Allahabad (U.P.), Oct 08 (ANI): Women across the nation performed puja to celebrate the festival of Karva Chauth and prayed for the longevity of their husbands. Dressed in colorful clothes and adorned with beautiful jewellery, women gathered in groups to perform the traditional rituals before the moonrise. On this day, married women fast from sunrise to moonrise for the safety and longevity of their husbands. The festival falls on the fourth day after the full moon, in the Hindu lunisolar calendar month of Kartik.
