Kallar (Kerala), Jan 28 (ANI): Lakshmikutty Amma, a 75 year old tribal lady from Kallar forest area, received Padma Shri award. She is famous poison healer and practices traditional medicine. Amma also writes poems and dramas. A member of Kaani tribe, she teaches in folklore academy. She got this knowledge from her mother who was a traditional mid wife. In 1995 Kerala government honored her by awarding Naattu Vaidya Ratna award. She attained the education of 3rd forum and she has knowledge in Sanskrit also. She can remember more than 500 varieties of medicine. She stays in the forest and sows medicinal plants around her house.
