Howrah (West Bengal), Apr 18 (ANI): West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha states recorded thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds and rainfall. At least eight persons were killed and several others were injured in West Bengal after strong winds hit the cities and its adjoining areas. The speed of the winds was of up to 98 km per hour. Four deaths were reported in the Kolkata while four died in Howrah district. Railway services were disrupted for several hours. More than 24 trains are running late from Howrah station. Traffic were disrupted after uprooted trees blocked roads. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation pressed into service a disaster management team to clear the debris. According to the weather department, thunderstorm accompanied with squall and hails are expected over the Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha for the next two days.
