19-year-old gets death sentence for raping infant in Alwar

Alwar (Rajasthan), Jul 21 (ANI): A 19-year-old has been awarded a death sentence for raping a seven-month-old baby in Rajasthan’s Alwar. The court ordered the criminal to be hanged for raping the infant. This is the first death sentence ordered by a court under new anti-rape law. The incident took place when a relative was babysitting the child and the accused took her away on May 9. The new anti rape law was passed after the Nirbhaya incident in March that allows death penalty in rape of minors less than 12 years of age.
